A little watercoloring pic

August 22, 2020 by Mandy Miller

I just decided to share this here because I like it. I haven’t been painting watercolors in the last few weeks because I have had such fun painting larger acrylic pieces. However, the joy I do get when watercoloring is amazing. This is one of my favorite 22x30 pieces I have yet to get framed. In this pic it is a bit buckled because that is what the water does to the paper. I use very high quality heavy paper, but it does it still. This requires a pretty extensive ironing operation after each piece dries. Each art medium has its version of finishing and protecting. You just can’t ever escape the details and the work. It’s good. It keeps the artist working and humble. And although I have only been painting for 8 years, I have been a mom for 23 years and let me tell you the job requirements are similar. I won’t lay them out for you, but just trust me.
